Banking on Women, a voluntary female association within HSBC Bank Malta plc, now in its tenth year, aims to encourage women to seek executive and managerial positions within the bank and develop constructive attitudes towards their careers. It is in regular contact with professionals from the banking world, women’s organisations and other groups to offer its members a more informative and enriching experience. The association is fully backed by HSBC Bank Malta plc.
During the Banking on Women Annual General Meeting, which looks back at the past year’s events and launches a new year of interesting programmes, Pauline Azzopardi, President of HSBC’s BoW, said: “Our group aims to help women become more assertive and confident. We hope to make women aware of their strengths and weaknesses to be able to bring out the best in them.
“We understand that many women find it a challenge to juggle their professional and their personal lives. HSBC’s Banking on Women aims to develop women’s people skills in order to help them have a more rewarding experience with their colleagues, family and friends,” she said.
BoW organises a number of activities to help achieve these aims. Activities include parental skills sessions, open for staff members and their partners, as well as sessions on neurolinguistic skills and various cultural talks and events.
