MaltaPost Returns to traditional colours

Malta Independent Saturday, 26 March 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

MaltaPost is having a facelift and has unveiled its rebranding exercise with a new logo bearing its traditional colours; red and black.

To mark the rebranding exercise, MaltaPost has issued first day covers named ‘Landscapes’ as part of its ‘Treasures of Malta’ series.

The ongoing exercise is in line with the company’s tagline: ‘Committed to deliver’.

“MaltaPost has adopted a new red and black logo to represent traditional values with a fresh outlook in both appearance and spirit,” said Joseph Gafà, MaltaPost CEO during a press conference at the post office in San Gwann yesterday afternoon.

Besides giving the company a whole new image, MaltaPost has also refurbished nearly all the post offices in Malta and Gozo.

Mr Gafà spoke of the need for continuous review, not only of the company’s processes and operations but also in its appearance and image, he continued. The adoption of MaltaPost’s new logo is the result of an extensive internal exercise following a study of processes, vision and strategy for future growth. As the national postal operator, MaltaPost remains sensitive to its role in the community.

Although its role has significantly changed over the past few years and has started to deliver more parcels rather than letters as a result of online shopping, MaltaPost remains constantly committed to fulfil its duties in Malta and Gozo. The logo, Mr Gafà continued, will be introduced gradually over a period of time in line with the company’s budget.

The return to our former corporate colours is intended to match the iconic red and black pillar boxes present throughout the island. The new logo captures MaltaPost’s core values and reflects the intention of entering and developing new markets and services by taking advantage of opportunities as they arise. MaltaPost is also trying to improve and diversify its various products and services including; post it, pay it, buy it, collect it, organise it, courier it, deliver it, manage it and market it.

A new branch will be opening at University next week to cater for students’ needs on campus.

MaltaPost is also re-launching a cheque exchange service and will be announcing new services in the coming weeks and months.

The logo is also easily identifiable in the international market and is in compliance with the logos of many other postal operators.

Postmen and postwomen also have new grey uniforms and the company’s vehicles will also be changed over the coming months. The MaltaPost website has also been revamped.
