A 47-year-old man from Żabbar is in serious condition after suffering injuries in an accident at a construction site located within the precincts of the University of Malta in Msida.

The incident occurred today at around 12pm, the police said.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the worker was injured while operating machinery. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, where a medical team provided assistance before transporting him to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries.

Magistrate Dr. Monica Borg Galea LL.D has been informed of the case and has initiated an inquiry. Investigations into the circumstances of the accident, led by the police and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, are ongoing
