The Prime Minister will be among speakers who will address FinanceMalta’s fourth annual conference, this time dealing with “Malta’s financial services industry: Gearing up to sustain growth.

FinanceMalta said the conference, on 20 May, is probably the most important annual event in the calendar of Malta’s financial services industry. I will bring industry, government and regulators together to discuss, network and gain insight into the issues and developments taking place in the international financial services arena as well as possible business opportunities for Malta’s practitioners.

International speakers include Karel Van Hulle, Head of Unit, Insurance and Pensions, European Commission and Senior Global Economist; Eddy Wymeersch, ex-chairman of the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) and of the European Regional Committee of the International Organization of Security Commissions (IOSCO); Vito Spada, Professor of Banking and Finance at the Università del Salento in Lecce, Italy; and Karen Ward, Senior Global Economist at HSBC, formerly with the Bank of England. Local speakers include Finance Minister Tonio Fenech.
