On the occasion of World Environment Day, Din l-Art Helwa is celebrating the International Year of the Forest at the Msida Bastion Historic Garden with two open mornings, one held yesterday and the second today.
Kept impeccably by Din l-Art Helwa volunteers, this Neo Classic garden is currently in full bloom and boasts several original trees that date to the early 19th century.
Together with its historic memorials of many important people who featured in Malta’s history during the early part of British rule, the Bastion garden overlooks the splendid Marsamxetto Creek and will be open from 9am to noon and plants and books will be for sale. Entrance is against a donation and all funds raised are dedicated to the maintenance of this heritage site.
To get to Msida Bastion Garden turn left by the Excelsior Hotel from Great Siege Road and left again after the public library.
