As part of its mission to help children with learning difficulties achieve a better education and quality of life, the HSBC Malta Foundation sponsored the purchase of over 300 books, CD players and educational flash cards for Klabbsajf – an educational project which falls under the umbrella of Skolasajf.
Klabbsajf is the summer extension of the complementary education programme provided in schools to give children with learning difficulties the extra attention they require to improve their learning skills. There are 12 Klabbsajf centres in Malta and Gozo to cater for children between the age of 7 and 8.
Over the past 11 years, HSBC donated over €17,000 to Klabbsajf.
During a presentation ceremony, also commemorating Skolasajf Animal Awareness Day, at St Benedict College Birzebbugia Primary, Anna Maria Gilson - Service Manager Projects and Initiatives within the Directorate for Educational Services, and Saviour Saliba – Skolasajf and Klabbsajf Organiser, thanked HSBC for tangibly supporting the project and facilitating the purchase of appropriate books and other educational tools to help children develop good reading and writing skills in English and Maltese.
