Valletta Fund Management Limited has recently presented a sponsorship to Ms Jenesse Abela, Chairperson of the Living Ability Not Disability Group (“LAND”). The sponsorship was in respect to the upcoming International Youth Summer Camp where 6 members with a disability and 5 personal assistants will be participating for the second time. The International Camp will take place in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy and will attract over 200 youths with and without disability from over 20 EU countries. The event consists of a week of fun including various activities such as sports, international nights, cultural exchanges and development of friendship.

During the presentation, Peter Perotti, Chief Officer at VFM said, “This is another initiative which the Company is undertaking as a commitment towards its corporate social responsibility”. He also thanked Ms Abela and her team “for their hard work towards this commendable cause and for their efforts to promote inclusion, education and independence and to socialize youths with physical disabilities into mainstream society.”

Jeanesse Abela, Chairperson of LAND Group added, “We want to enhance independence especially for youths with a disability; make other people aware that we are like other persons who have the same energy, the same ideals, the same eagerness to have fun, to work, to help each other when the need arises even though with certain boundaries”. She finally thanked Mr Perotti for his commitment and for VFM’s continuous support to Non Governmental Organizations such as LAND Group which will encourage their full participation in society on an equal basis with others.
