The Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, hosted a health and safety week for all team members from Corinthia Group’s three hotels in Malta, between 24-28 October, with the aim of educating team members in various aspects of health and safety, both at their workplace and in their homes.
The event highlighted the importance the hotel gives to its preventive approach to the health and well-being aspect of its team members. This is achieved by advising them on how to best take care of themselves and ensuring their health and safety at all times, as also through the creation of a safe environment and risk assessment procedures.
Activities throughout the week included a variety of talks that dealt with various aspects of health and safety, both at the place of work, as well as on a personal level. Topics ranged from occupational health, food safety tips, balanced nutrition and breast cancer awareness, to fire prevention techniques and pest control.
The week came to a close with the launch of a weight management and aerobics programme that will unfold over the coming months, ensuring the long-lasting benefits of this health and safety week. A follow up event is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
