The Water Services Corporation recently hosted an international seminar for members of the @qua network, which aims to create a shared vision on ICT for water efficiency at the EU level – discussions will help to provide a roadmap for the consolidation of existing good practices and the development of innovative ICT solutions.

The expected impact of the @qua network is greater collaboration at EU level, in defining, sharing and validating the standards and architecture for ICT solutions. This will help facilitate the cross-fertilisation of ideas and proposals to improve the efficiency of water networks.

Some of the topics discussed ranged from the operation of drinking water plants, wastewater and storm water management, laboratories and quality control, real-time network management, as well as the management of field interventions and plant maintenance.
