Actavis Supports L-Istrina

Malta Independent Wednesday, 14 December 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Actavis Ltd, located at Bulebel Industrial Estate, is once again supporting L-Istrina in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. The Malta Community Chest Fund, under the chairmanship of President George Abela is the premier philanthropic organisation on the Island.

Apart from donating €15,000, this year Actavis employees built a five-metre high Christmas tree made entirely from recycled material. In all, around 3,125 plastic cups, six wooden pallet tops and eight string balls were used. The angel was made up of two used plastic bottles and used plastic and jablo cups. A total of 96 hours were spent to prepare the recycled Christmas tree. All material will be either re-used or sent for recycling once the festive season is over.

On 7 December, Dr George visited Actavis to switch on the Christmas tree for the first time in the presence of Actavis employees. This contribution is in line with Actavis’ strategy to help people who are in need.

Actavis Ltd is a subsidiary of the Actavis Group, one of the world’s leading players in the development, manufacture, and sale of first-class generic pharmaceuticals. Actavis operates in more than 40 countries around the globe. The Maltese operation site is in Zejtun and employs over 600 highly skilled people.
