MSI President meets tied insurance intermediaries and brokers

MSI CEO and president Alfredo Muñoz hosted a meeting at Middle Sea House for the company’s Tied Insurance Intermediaries and Brokers. During the meeting, Mr Muñoz had the opportunity to acquaint himself with key members of Middlesea Insurance’s distribution channel, while familiarising them with the MAPFRE Group as well as new and future developments at Middlesea Insurance.

Mr Muñoz opened his presentation by introducing the new management team of Middlesea Insurance: Mr Chris Borg, Vice President − Corporate Services, and Ms Anne Marie Tabone, Vice President, Operations. He then spoke about future strategic developments expected to take place at MSI. Middlesea is currently in the process of creating new products and services to ensure that the service offered to the customer is truly of the best standards.

Mr Muñoz also focused on the financial performance of MAPFRE Group and its leadership in the international sphere. As at July 2011, MAPFRE generated revenues of over €20,400 million and premiums exceeded €17,000 million. At present it employs around 38,000 people, has more than 5,350 own branches and more than 70,000 agents and brokers. As at July 2011, MAPFRE had more than 20 million customers and 177 million beneficiaries. He also spoke about the principles of the Group, one of which being “dedication to leadership”, a principle that further attracted MAPFRE Group to invest in Middlesea. He concluded his address on a positive note, stating that he is looking forward to future growth at Middlesea Insurance for the benefit of all its stakeholders.

The talk was followed by an informal discussion during which the tied insurance intermediaries and brokers shared their views about the items discussed.

Mr Muñoz thanked all the attendees saying that it is Middlesea’s priority to foster and maintain a good channel of communication with its tied insurance intermediaries and brokers.

The meeting was also attended by Middlesea Insurance’s top management team.
