Tuesday’s issue of the Government Gazette announced that the Malta Environment and Planning Authority has declared the following properties as included in the list of Scheduled Property in terms of article 81 of the Environment and Development Planning Act, 2010, as follows:
a) Tal-Wejter Tower in Triq Dun Filippu Borg, Birkirkara as a Grade 2 property
b) Tal-Gardiel Tower and water mill in Triq il-Vjola, Marsaskala as a Grade 2 property
c) Tal-Buttar Tower and water mill, Tas-Sienja, Marsaskala as a Grade 1 property.
d) Torre Gauci in Triq San Pawl, Naxxar as a Grade 1 property and Property number 9 and its garden in Triq it-Torri Gauci c/w Triq il-Konverzjoni, Naxxar as a Grade 2 property
e) Selmun Tower as a Grade 1 property.
f) Underground Flour Mill, limits of Il-Palma, Mġarr as a Grade 1 property.
g) Corradino ex-Naval/Military Prisons, Kordin Industrial Estate, Paola as a Grade 2 property.
h) Qrendi ex-Military Airfield, limits of San Niklaw, Siġġiewi as a Grade 2 property.
i) Palazzo Bighi as a Grade 1 property and the rest of the complex composed of Bighi ex-Naval Hospital Buildings, lift cot, chaplain’s quarters and annex, guardroom, stone ‘igloos’/baths and ancillary structures as Grade 2 properties .
j) Properties numbers 57, 58, 59 and 60 including their gardens, pigeon loft and other ancillary structures in Triq il-Kbira and watermill in Alley Number 1 in Triq il-Kbira, Balzan as Grade 2 properties. The provisions of Government Notice 636 dated 12 July, 2011 regarding the repair of the damaged parts of the property are to remain in effect until the damages are reversed to MEPA’s satisfaction.
k) Ta’ Kaspru Palace in Triq Santa Margerita c/w Triq Sant’Anton Abbati and Chapel Property number 75 in Triq Santa Margerita, Mosta as a Grade 2 property
l) Villa Grognet in Triq il-Kbira, Mosta as a Grade 2 property.
m) Property number 131, Triq il-Kbira, Naxxar as a Grade 2 property.
n) Property numbers 11-13, Triq id-Dejqa, Siġġiewi as a Grade 2 property.
o) Villa Sciberras in Triq Marina c/w Triq ir-Rinella, Kalkara and its gardens and ancillary structures as a Grade 2 property.
p) Palazzo Bettina in Triq San Ġorġ c/w Triq Wenzu Dyer, Birgu as a Grade 2 property.
q) Corner Property in Triq ir-Repubblika c/w Triq il-Kapuċċini, Rabat, Gozo as a Grade 2 property
r) Cumbo Tower in Triq it-Torri c/w Triq Durumblat, Mosta as a Grade 2 property.
s) Underground bombproof power station between Triq Fra Diegu and Il-Moll tal-Pont, Marsa as a Grade 2 property .
t) St Philip’s Church in Misraħ Francesco Zahra, Isla as a Grade 1 property.
u) Tax-Xerriek Pigeon Loft in Triq ix-Xerriek, Marsaxlokk as a Grade 2 property, and
v) Part of Palazzo Armeria in Triq il-Ħaddiema, Żurrieq as a Grade 1 property. The rest of Palazzo Armeria and its gardens were scheduled as a Grade 1 property as per Government Notice 313 dated 17 April, 1998.
