The Vodafone Malta Foundation is aiding Maria Regina Girls Secondary School in Mosta to support more than 13 families in need by donating stocks of groceries and consumables that will help fill up tables and stockings with good food and cheer. This project addresses the needs of a number of families who are finding it difficult to cope with expenses and basic needs.

In 2006 the school’s administration set up a committee specifically to help families in need by donating groceries, stationery and other basic consumables on a monthly basis. To help out more families in need the committee is reaching out to third parties who can support them in helping out more families. The project aids children in these families develop a healthier lifestyle and more life skills, increasing their probability for full participation in society.

The Vodafone Malta Foundation shares the school’s commitment to make a difference in the lives of such families and children. “Every child has a right to an upbringing that provides basic needs,” said Gemma Mifsud Bonnici, Chairperson of the Vodafone Malta Foundation. “We wholeheartedly agree to aid families with financial struggles and to ensure their children do not lag behind others because of this.”
