MSV Life is the official sponsor of the 2012 Malta Basketball Association (MBA) men and women National leagues.

Presenting the sponsorship recently, MSV Life CEO David G. Curmi said, “While the contribution of MSV Life to sports is wide-ranging this is the first time that our company is sponsoring a National league of such importance. We see benefit in sponsoring associations rather than individual clubs as without the support of institutional sponsorships it is difficult for sport associations to achieve their aims and objectives.”

The MBA was established in 1964. In October of the same year, the Association became affiliated with the Malta Olympic Committee (MOC) and later, in August of 1967 the MBA became an affiliate of the International Amateur Basketball Federation (FIBA).

Since its establishment the MBA sought to attract as many clubs and players as possible by organizing various leagues and competitions for both males and females of different age groups. The MBA has also achieved success in a number of European competitions organized both locally and overseas.

MBA President Paul Sultana added, “Sport events such as the national basketball leagues need the backing from corporate companies such as MSV Life. It is thanks to this support that the MBA can continue to organise leagues and improve its facilities to provide the best standards that the game of basketball deserves.”
