Renewable energy is proving to be a major player in offering the solution to the growing energy needs of industry, commerce and the domestic sector. Many innovative organizations have been pioneers in implementing photovoltaic technology. Apart from the scientifically proven benefits of reducing carbon dioxide emissions from polluting power stations and aiding the environment, organizations are now drawn to the affordable prices and fantastic returns on their investments. The photovoltaic industry has really kicked off and is playing its part in trying to reach the 20/20 target set by the EU.

The ERDF funding scheme launched by Malta Enterprise is a major initiative for organizations that are willing to invest in photovoltaic panels. Companies such as Central Cement Ltd have taken the initiative and full advantage of such schemes. By installing 261 Hyundai photovoltaic panels, it benefits from a very advantageous return of investment that no other investment can offer. In doing so, it shoulders the responsibility for its own consumption while positively contributing to the environment.

These types of photovoltaic installations are becoming all the more common and such investments have prompted enough interest from Hyundai Heavy Industries’ regional manager Mr Sean Kim in South Korea to pay a visit and monitor the progress and get a first hand impression of the quality of installations. Together with Karl Azzopardi, Marketing Director at Solar Solutions Ltd, the sole authorized dealers for Malta and Gozo, Solar Solutions Ltd showed Mr. Kim some recent installations.

Mr Kim was impressed at the high output of the Hyundai modules and also commented positively about the quality of materials used together with the neatness of the installation.
