Exploring Prehistory with Playmobil

Malta Independent Sunday, 20 May 2012, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Dinosaurs have always held a special place in the hearts of children. This spring, the giant lizards will start to prowl through Playmobil’s fantastic new Dino Play World, designed to thrill children everywhere with its many colourful dinosaurs and ingenious features. The dinosaur themed range is one of 130 new products being launched by Playmobil throughout this year, which includes novelties such as the Horse Farm, the Football range and the Hand Launch Gliders.

The centrepiece of this range is an impressive volcanic landscape, where explorers are on an expedition in search of buried fossils. Children can take on the guise of explorers looking out for some of the wonders hidden in the tropical vegetation, including baby dinosaurs which are included in the set. In addition to the most popular dinosaurs, the play world also includes fossils, exotic flowers, pterodactyls and prehistoric insects. Finally, pressing the button will make the volcano erupt and spew molten lava and lumps of rock.

Commenting on the launch of this range, Playmobil Malta Sales and Marketing manager Anna Agius said that: “Apart from the foremost aspect of play and creativity, educationally the range opens up a new world to children aged four and over, adding that Playmobil’s Dino Play World is a veritable journey of discovery into prehistory.”

Meanwhile, Playmobil has also announced that it will shortly be launching its High Performance Athletes range together with its Carry Along Dolls House.
