Health warning against swimming near Chalet in Sliema lifted

The Environmental Health Directorate has said that the health warning on swimming near the Chalet in Sliema has been lifted.

On 18 June, the directorate had issued a warning to bathers not to swim in the area near the Sliema Chalet, off of Tower Road, due to sewage in the sea.

But in a statement on Tuesday, it said: "The Bathing Water Directive the Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health wishes to notify that during the last days repeated sampling of seawater from the bathing site indicated below is once again fit for bathing and thus the health warning is hereby being lifted."
