Hamilton Travel has been presented with the Lama Appreciation Award in recognition of their consistency in sending Maltese tourists to Dubai continually since 1999.

Hamilton Travel has sent more than 10,000 holiday makers and businessmen to the United Arab Emirates, year after year over a period of 13 years and are planning to expand their activity in the UAE during the year 2013.

Nasser Abdulla Vice-Chairman of LAMA Group (Dubai) said that Dubai appreciates Mr Hamilton’s foresight to open the Dubai markets in Malta, preceeding similar initiatives by other travel agents elsewhere on the European continent. Hamilton Travel’s initiative was followed by other agents in Italy, Germany and France, who also realised the potential of Dubai and the other Emirates of the UAE. Dubai receives over 4,000,000 visitors annually, the highest numbers of travellers visiting Dubai during the Dubai Shopping Festival between January and Febraury of each year.

Mr Hamilton said that Hamilton Travel is proud to have been the first travel agency in Malta and the Mediterranean to realise the importance of this fast developing emirate.

Mr. Hamilton emphasised his commitment to be the first travel agency in Malta to promote the Emirate of Dubai as a tourist and business destination since 1999.

Mr. Ismael Mohammed, Mr. P. Kulwant from Lama Group and Mr Joe Borg, Travel Consultant at Hamilton Travel for Eastern Europe and the Middle East, attended the ceremony.
