Despite the Prime Minister’s attempts last Thursday to quash suggestions of an early election, barely 48 hours later a number of PN billboards mushroomed in strategic points around the island. Yesterday morning, blue billboard bases were noted in various locations and later on a large trailer was seen in several arterial roads carrying more billboards ready to be offloaded. Following the onset of the political crisis last January, the PL had erected a number of billboards that are still in place.
In recent days, Transport Malta (TM) filed a judicial protest declaring it was not responsible for any damages caused by these billboards. According to TM some of them pose a hazard due to their unsafe location. Prior to this, a court ruling had decreed that the PL was free to place its billboards around the island.
