In 2013, Costa Crociere shall be operating 3 cruise itineraries which will call on a regular basis at Valletta Port. This is a significant increase over previous years and shows the strong commitment Costa Crociere has towards Malta.
The Costa Favolosa (Grt 114.500t, 3800 guests) shall come to Malta 34 times between 29 March and 25 November bringing over 120.000 visitors to our shores. The Favolosa is Costa’s largest and most luxurious vessel in the fleet and will operate a Western Med cruise embarking guests in Valletta and prices start from as low as Euro 499 for a 1 week cruise on an all-inclusive basis. The itinerary will give the Maltese public the opportunity to discover the places such as Portofino (Savona), Barcelona, Palma, Naples and Catania. Children (1-17 years) pay Euro 120 if sharing with 2 adults. New in 2013 is the special family plan concept which offers 2 nearby cabins for a special reduced rate. This is the ideal choice for families with teenagers who will be given their own cabin so that
the parents can enjoy their privacy.
The Costa Classica (53.000t, 1680 guests) will be calling in Valletta 5 times in April and May and will give the Maltese public the opportunity to book on a 10-day cruise leaving from Valletta visiting ports in the Eastern Med including Athens and Izmir as well as in the West Med including Marseille, Livorno (Florence) and Sicily. On the 24th May there will be a short 4-night taster cruise available calling in Savona (Portofino) and Naples.
New in 2013: All the above mentioned cruises will be offered to the Maltese public on an all inclusive basis which means all drinks will be included in the price. In addition to the above, the smaller Costa Voyager (Grt 25.000t, 1040 guests) will call several times during July and August at Valletta port. It is expected to bring a further 10.000 guests to Malta.
The Orange Travel Group has also embarked on an ambitious European network with offices in Cyprus, Russia, Turkey, Tunisia, Great Britain and the Ukraine. All the above mentioned cruises will be marketed in these countries through our own offices to entice potential clients to come over to Malta and combine a cruise with a land based holiday (the FLY/Cruise concept). At present, all our Regional Managers are in Malta, in fact on this ship today, for a 2 day conference.
Port agents and passenger handling agents for all Costa Crociere ships are SMS while the local general sales agent (responsible for cruise sales from Malta) are the Orange Travel Group.
