Following the recent publication of the rules governing the retirement of EU/EEA and Swiss nationals, the Real Estate Business Section of The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry has congratulated the Finance Ministry, and Minister Tonio Fenech in particular, for this innovative approach.

A recent international study named Malta as the best retirement place on earth for British nationals and these rules further enhance Malta’s offer.

The Real Estate Business Section also applauded the paradigm shift that addresses the specific needs of Gozo by offering more favourable conditions to those who choose it as their retirement destination.

These rules will help the local property industry compete in the international property market and will enhance the island’s image as a retirement destination. It is hoped that the Finance Ministry will create similar rules to attract third country pensioners to choose Malta as their new home.
