Transport Malta said in a statement that the Upper Barrakka Lift will be operating against a fee of €1 as from Monday 7 January.

TM said that persons in possession of the ‘Karta Anzjan’, children under the age of 10, and ticket holders of the Three Cities to Valletta ferry can use the lift for free.

Standing at 58 metres and connecting Valletta with Lascaris Wharf and vice-versa, the lift connection takes approximately 23 seconds. The lifts have two cabins, the cabins of which can each carry 21 passengers.

The opening hours of the facility are between 7am and 9pm daily.
