Malta registers third highest increase in industrial production

Figures released by Eurostat last week show that in 2012, Malta registered the third highest increase in industrial production in the EU.

In November 2012, among the member states for which data are available, industrial production fell in 14 and rose in seven.

The largest decreases were registered in Slovenia (-4.0%), Portugal (-3.4%) and Spain (-2.5%), and the highest increases in Estonia (+4.7%), Latvia and the Netherlands (both +1%).

In November 2012 compared with November 2011, among the member states for which data are available, industrial production fell in 16 and rose in five.

The largest decreases were registered in Italy (-7.6%), Spain (-7.2%) and Ireland (-6.6%), and the highest increases in Lithuania (+8.9%), Estonia (+6.5%) and Malta (+6.1%).
