Insurance brokers Max Insurance Brokers Ltd, licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), has teamed up with insurance veteran James Lawrence Mizzi to provide an array of insurance products. The company has also moved its offices to 71 Robert Mifsud Bonnici Street in Lija.
Mr Mizzi established himself in the sector in 1997, when he personally became a Tied Insurance Intermediary with Citadel plc and subsequently opened Ideal Services Ltd. He has now been appointed managing director of Max Insurance Brokers Ltd.
The directors of the company are Mr Mizzi and Kevin Buttigieg, who represents JK Properties Ltd. Mr Buttigieg said: “Mr Mizzi has the experience and knowledge to transform Max Insurance Brokers into one of the most prominent brokerage firms in Malta. We already have a large portfolio of customers and we intend to work together to expand our business.”
Max Insurance Brokers Ltd is one of 27 licensed brokers in Malta and Gozo that are authorised by the MFSA to offer all types of insurance cover from the various accredited insurance companies present in Malta. The role of the broker is to negotiate the most beneficial insurance in terms of price and cover.
Speaking about the transition from Insurance Tied Intermediary to a fully licensed insurance brokerage, Mr Mizzi said: “I have always wanted to grow my business and this is a step in the right direction. Instead of being tied to one insurance company, as a broker I am more flexible and able to give my customers a more comprehensive service where they will be able to trust us with all their insurance business.”
