The Ministry for Tourism and the Malta Tourism Authority would like to inform the public that the opening night of the Malta International Fireworks Festival (MIFF) is still taking place as scheduled this evening in Marsaxlokk.
The first night of the pyro-musical competitive programme starts at 21.00hrs with a display by Focs d’Artifici Europla from Spain, followed by Malta’s own Mount Carmel Fireworks Factory from Zurrieq. The evening will come to a close with a display starting at around 22.00hrs by Lieto Fireworks from Italy.
Prior to the fireworks display, the Marsaxlokk Local Council will be organising an entertainment programme to be held in front of the Parish church.
The Fireworks Festival will continue over the weekend with the second night of competitive displays taking place on Sunday 28 April at Golden Bay, with the Grand Finale display taking place in the Grand Harbour on Tuesday 30 April.
Public transport from Valletta to Marsaxlokk and vice versa will operate as usual with the last bus running from Marsaxlokk to Valletta at 23.00hrs.
