Enemalta Corporation said today a ninth employee has been suspended in the investigation launched on the tampering of smart meters.

In a statement, the corporation said together with the police the investigation led to the suspension of another employee. Eight had been suspended last week when the scandal surfaced.

Enemalta confirmed its commitment to continue its fight against electricity theft and improve the quality of its services.

The corporation did not name the employee.

Last week, the Nationalist Party revealed the names of the eight suspended workers.
