Champions League final: Extra-time goals give Real Madrid 10th European title

Three extra-time goals by Gareth Bale, Marcelo and Ronaldo gave Real Madrid their 10th European title after it had been defender Ramos who rescued them with a 92nd minute goal.

Atletico Madrid were leader their city rivals 1-0 at halftime after a mistake by veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas allowed Diego Godin to score with a 35th-minute header.

But a late goal by Sergio Ramos threw the game in extra-time.

With Atletico's physical strength waning, Real Madrid scored three goals in the last 10 minutes of the game to win the cup.

Bale headed home from close range after some good wrok from Di Maria. Marcelo made it 3-1 with a solo effort before Ronaldo scored from the peantly spot.

Atletico had taken the lead when Casillas got out of position rushing out to meet a cross, and Godin outjumped Sami Khedira to loop a header into the goal.

Atletico's gamble on forward Diego Costa's injured right hamstring backfired as he lasted just nine minutes before being replaced by Adrian Lopez.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti became the first coach to win the European crown three times with two different teams. Liverpool's Bob Paisley had won the cup three times, but with the same club. The first two wins for Ancelotti were with Milan in 2003 and 2007; he had also win the competition twice as a player with Milan in 1989 and 1990.
