An Israeli registered ship docked in the Malta shipyard has caught fire, police said.

Information gathered revealed that a cherry picker on the ship itself caught fire, which subsequently spread. The ship is in dock six and the police said that nobody was injured.

Members of the Police and Fire Department were on site and successfully doused the flames by 6.30 pm.
