A new Youth Hub, the third of its kind, was opened this morning at the Msida Junior College.
The aim of Youth Hubs is to provide non-formal education in formal education settings. There, students are urged by Youth Workers to come up with initiatives and projects that improve their personal and social skills.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive of the Youth Agency, Miriam Theuma, explained how the Students Council had come up with the idea of launching a new Youth Hub at the Junior College. The other two hubs are situated at MCAST and Youth. Inc.

College Principal Paul Xuereb praised the initiative, which coincides with the Junior College's 20th anniversary.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport, Chris Agius, said it is important for studies to be accompanied by other activities. The Youth Hub should serve as a place for students to share ideas and thoughts on the future, he said. This is especially important because our youths are instrumental for the country's development.
