ST Microelectronics employees hold strike over company’s austerity measures

 Employees at ST Microelectronics this morning held a one-hour strike in protest against the company’s insistence on keeping austerity measures.

At around 6am, 350 workers stopped working for an hour, while clerks stopped for an hour at around 8am.

 

The General Workers' Union last week warned of industrial action after talks on a new collective agreement collapsed.
