Aircraft Registration Act will be revised - Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis

The Aircraft Registration Act  is expected to be revised to give the industry a more solid legal framework making the country more attractive to organisations offering varied aircraft services, Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis said. Dr. Zammit Lewis was speaking during the Pilot Wings presentation at the Island Microlight Club. 

Tourism Minister also said that in the coming months, the government would be laying down a legal framework for the regulation of remote pilot aircraft. These regulation would also be aimed at exploiting economic opportunities which could arise. 

He said that, "my aim is for these amendments to come into force by the end of this year," He added that the government was adopting a proactive and dynamic approach towards aviation in Malta.
