A 29-year-old motorcyclist and a 39-year-old passenger were yesterday hospitalised following a traffic accident at Zurrieq yesterday afternoon.

The incident, a collision between a Honda CBR and Isuzu Elf, happened at about 5:30pm at Blue Grotto Avenue, Zurrieq. As a result, the motorcyclist, from Birgu and his passenger, a woman from Gzira, suffered injuries and were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The van was being driven by a 70-year-old man, resident in Zabbar, who was given assistance for shock.

The 39-year-old woman has been certified as suffering from grievous injuries, while the condition of the 29-year-old man is unknown.

Investigations are ongoing.
