Could this be the start of something everybody has been suggesting for decades?

The Electoral Commission has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research for the proof of concept of an Electronic Vote-Counting solution. The RFI may be downloaded from the Publications Section in the Electoral Commission’s website www.electoral.gov.mt

Requests for clarifications on the subject may be submitted in writing to the Chief Electoral Commissioner at [email protected] by not later than Friday, 31 July, 2015.  The information requested in the completed RFI must reach the Chief Electoral Commissioner both as a soft copy at [email protected] and as a hard copy at the Office of the Electoral Commission, Evans Building, Merchants Street, Valletta, VLT 2000 by not later than noon of Monday, 31 August, 2015.

Each election brings with it a long delay in the issuing of results, and it is always manual system established by the political parties that gives an indication soon after the counting starts. The Commission takes up to three days to issue the official results.
