In May 2015, the rate of inflation stood at 0.8% - one of the lowest rates registered by the National Statistics Office in twenty years.

In a statement, the government said that during the previous administration, the average rate of inflation stood at 2.8% - that is four times as much that registered last month. In the last year of Nationalist Administration, the inflation rate reached 3.2%.

The index prices for water, electiricy, gas and fuel went up by 8% between March 2008 and March 2013. During the current legislature, this decreased by 8%, and families are facing less struggles to make end meets.
