It seems that while the infrastructural work carried out in Qormi to alleviate flooding was largely successful, plans are afoot to increase the number of storm water drains in the town.
The information came to light after a parliamentary question was put by opposition MP Clyde Puli, who asked whether additional culverts could be put down to accomodate the runoff from Triq Dun Marju. Mr Puli said that the problem was not only concentrated in Triq il Wied, where works reduced flooding drastically.
Infrastructure Minister Joe Mizzi said that there were in fact plans to connect Triq Dun Marju to the storm water drainage system at it's meeting point with Triq San Gorg.
