Reno Azzopardi, 30, of Cospicua and Domenic Fava, 43, of Bahar ic-Caghaq today were denied a request for bail by Magistrate Clare Stafrace Zammit after having been accused of last Sunday’s failed hold-up at a Fair Play gaming establishment in St Paul’s Bay.
They were also accused of holding Fair Play employee Aaron Micallef against his will and threatening him.
Fava was also accused of supplying weapons to Azzopardi to commit a crime while Azzopardi was also accused of causing slight injuries to Micallef, and having a weapon in his possession with a licence.
Mr Azzopardi also stands accused over a separate crime, that of having in his possession heroin when he was arrested by the police on Wednesday.
The two pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
Dr Joseph Ellis acted as legal aid for both the accused.
