Priests are at liberty to choose to attend the public protest against the development of a University at Zonqor Point, Archbishop Mgr Charles Scicluna said.

Asked by The Malta Independent whether he will be attending Saturday’s protest in Valletta, Mgr Scicluna said that he has a commitment with deacons who will be ordained priests on 3 July.

“Everybody is free to express himself in a civic and respectful way. Saturday’s protest is a civic activity, not a partisan event. Members of the clergy are free to attend,” Mgr Scicluna said.
