In a meeting held on June 23, 2015, the Supervisory Board of Vienna Airport plc unanimously reappointed Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner to serve as Members of the Management Board of Vienna Airport plc. The new term of office extends for an additional five years, from September 2016 to September 2021.
In line with the Public Appointment Act, the Management Board positions at Vienna Airport plc were publicly advertised, and after a comprehensive evaluation of all the applications, the Supervisory Board unanimously approved the reappointment of the Management Board members Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner.
“Today the Supervisory Board unanimously approved the extension of the Management Board contracts of Julian Jäger and Günther Ofner for a further five-year period. The management has shown an impressive track record and demonstrated the best team spirit in their collaboration. Net debt was almost halved, productivity improved by a quarter and the share price tripled. Furthermore, the new terminal was not only completed, but the costs were significantly reduced from the predicted level of € 830 million to about € 720 million”, stated Ewald Kirschner, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vienna Airport plc.
“Thanks to a series of measures, the quality of service for passengers was tangibly enhanced and the airport moved up in the corresponding international rankings. Furthermore, Vienna Airport even won the renowned Skytrax Award for the best airport staff in Europe. For the reasons mentioned above, we unanimously decided to continue the previous success path with the current Management Board for the next five years”, he added.
This important decision comes one year before expiration of the current term of office of the Management Board and ensures stability for the future of the company and its 4,500 employees.
