Christopher Farrugia, a 45-year-old who resided in Birzebbuga, lost his life after he was involved in a traffic accident in Triq Ghajn Tuffieha, Imgarr.

The accident happened at 9.45am.

Preliminary investigations by the Mosta Police show that for some reason a motorcycle and a public bus collided while they were being driven in opposite directions.

The 45-year-old was driving the motorcycle - a Honda CB while the bus was being driven by a 22-year-old man who lives in Zebbug.

Unfortunately the motorcyclist was certified dead on the spot.

Traffic Police and Rapid Intervention Unit were also on site to assist.

Duty Magistrate Dr I Farrugia LL.D was informed about the case whereby he appointed several experts to assist him in the Magisterial Inquiry.

The mentioned road is currently closed for traffic and police investigations are still underway.
