The revised plan for the American University of Malta is a win-win situation for all, particularly the people of the south, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said this morning.

"We chose to pause plans and listen to the people. We chose to treat the south of Malta as it should be treated.  People of the south are not second class and we needed to get that message across,” he said, speaking briefly on One Radio.

 “News journals today have failed to mention the American University of Malta on front pages.  With all respect to journalists, this means that the project poses no controversy,” he remarked.

He hit out at the Nationalist Party for choosing to criticise all plans by the government without offering an alternative.  “Has the PN forgotten how many permits for projects it allowed in Outside Development Zones? He questioned.
