Further growth expected by the end of 2016

Melita Business is registering exponential growth in hosting of business clients at its Data Centre in Madliena. When compared to June 2015, the number of client data racks hosted at the purpose built, state-of-the-art facility has increased by 100% and similar growth is expected by the end of this year.

Since completing the tenfold expansion of its data centre footprint in 2015, Melita has witnessed unprecedented demand for data centre services from international companies working in Malta as well as home-grown companies seeking reliable connectivity and security.

The extension to Melita Business Data Centre forms part of a multi-million Euro investment that the company is rolling out over a five-year period. As a result of this investment, Melita doubled Malta's existing data centre capacity.

The data centre is housed in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility complete with top tier security features. Phase 1 of the project was sold out within a few months while the extended facility continues to attract a high degree of interest from companies operating in financial services, banking, online gaming, ICT and other industries.

"More companies are choosing the Melita Business Data Centre for its unique, purpose-built and state-of-the-art facilities that meet the very demanding security specifications of multinational companies and time-sensitive transactions. The new data centre continues to solidify Melita's chain of investments that were completed in recent years to strengthen its network infrastructure, including a submarine fibre cable to mainland Europe, international links to the world's best internet providers directly in Milan and nationwide availability of dedicated internet over Fibre for businesses, specifically to assist companies in Malta to do better business with the rest of the world," said Malcolm Briffa, Director of Business Services at Melita.
