Monday, 10 April 2017, 14:54 Last update: about 8 years ago

Hundreds of children and adults, hobbyists and professionals got a first-hand experience of the 3Doodler - the world's first 3D printing pen, at the Forestals stand during the Malta Robotics Olympiad.

Compact and easy to use, the 3Doodler pens extrude heated plastic that cools almost instantly into a solid and stable structure - giving the user an opportunity to transform a drawing into a real three-dimensional object.

Two different 3Doodlers are currently available: the Start, which is developed with special bioplastic to ensure that the pen does not heat up and is perfectly safe for younger children aged 8+.  Named as the 2017 Toy of the Year, the 3Doodler Start is the world's first kid-safe 3D printing pen.

The second 3Doodler pen is the Create - the latest generation of the world's best-selling pen. Compact and easy to use, the 3Doodler Create is intended for children aged 14+, hobbyists, artists and professionals. It incorporates hundreds of refinements for smoother, faster and more reliable Doodling in 3D.

John Farrugia Randon, responsible for the 3Doodler product line at Forestals, expressed his satisfaction at the Forestals stand. "We are completely overwhelmed with the number of queries about the 3Doodler pens.

It was fantastic to see young and old alike trying their hand at doodling and seeing their imagination taking shape in front of their eyes. "

The entire range of 3Doodler products, including Pen Starter Packs, filaments and refills, are available from any Forestals or Matrix outlet. Hundreds of free stencils are also available on the 3Doodler website to further inspire the kids' creativity.
