Fans of hilarious radio duo Oz & Jay could be in for a scrumptious lunchtime treat thanks to a Round Table Malta and XFM Charity Drive crowdfunding campaign on Zaar.com.mt that is currently raising much-needed funds for the Ursuline Sisters Crèche in Sliema.
The brilliant campaign includes a fabulous selection of rewards for backers, including personalised video messages from Oz & Jay to the person of your choice for €15, signed albums from Ira Losco and Airport Impressions, and the "big kahuna" lunch date for two with Oz and Jay themselves for a super-duper donation of €200.
"The great news is that we've already hit our first two targets," explains David 'Oz' Borg. "The campaign has raised the €3,800 needed to get the crèche both a commercial bread cutter and new kitchen tiles, and we're thrilled. Our next goal is to secure a further €1,600 to do up two new bathrooms, €220 for commercial pots and pans, €520 for an immersion blender, €480 for a washing machine, €480 for three new water heaters and €260 for a dehumidifier. In total our plan is to raise €7,360 for this brilliant organisation and the work that they do - and we're so grateful to the public for supporting us thus far."
To help reach their goal, Oz & Jay are hoping generous benefactors will take them out to lunch. "For €200 you and a friend could enjoy our happy-go-lucky company for lunch at Hugo's Lounge," quips Jay. "The restaurant has generously donated the meal for four - now we just need someone to buy it for us! We promise you laughs a-plenty and lots of fun."
The Oz & Jay Lunch Date is available online on the campaign's page, along with all the other rewards. "But let's get serious for a second," Oz says. "Sure the rewards are nice, but what's really important is the knowledge that you could be making a massive difference to the Ursuline Sisters Crèche and the children that live there. With that in mind, we would encourage you to dig deep and donate generously, as the money will be gratefully received and put to very good use," he adds.
