If you like your political satire served up with a heavy dose of the naughty comedy, and with Malta's top comedy talent coming together to make it sillier...you're in for a massive treat this summer
Ants in Pants have announced that the fourth edition of the raunchy, rowdy, and ridiculously-funny Adult Pantomime will be based on the age-old tale of Little Red Riding Hood! Once again, the staple production on every Maltese adult's cultural calendar will be subverting the rules of the genre and creating a show that is naughty rather than nice, for grown-ups rather than kiddies, and in summer instead of at Christmas...because, why not?
The team behind this 'anti-panto' will be taking it up another notch this year by taking the satire as close to Castille as possible! In fact, as the writer and director of the Adult Panto, Steve Hili, explains: "Every year we hope the Prime Minister will turn up, but he never does! So, with the election edging closer, we have decided to go to him!
"With the show at Spazju Kreattiv (St James Cavalier), Dr Muscat and all the other MPs in Parliament are now literally just a few metres away from the naughtiest slice of political satire they can see this electoral cycle. So, who knows? It might even influence their electoral programmes!"
From Acapulco to Panama via the Azure Window, a genie-of-the-naughty-bits and a Prime Minister brought back from the dead, this is without a doubt the most insane show you will see this year.
Produced by Michael Fenech (the brains behind Bla Kondixin), and featuring some of Malta's top comedy talent, including Joe Depasquale, Joseph Zammit, Larissa Bonaci, Taryn Mamo Cefai, Malcolm Galea as the dame, and, of course, Steve himself taking a break from his comedy work in the UK, Little Red Riding Hood promises to be unforgettable!
Needless to say, adult here means 18+; and while that does not guarantee that you're mature, it means you're legally allowed to watch the show!
Little Red Riding Hood will be performed at Spazju Kreattiv from June 9th till June 25th. Tickets start from just €17, with a massive 25 per cent discount on early bird tickets available until 4 May. To book, visit www.kreattivita.org or call 2122 3200.
