A man who witnessed the brutal murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia speaks of two explosions that occurred, not one.

Frans Sant said that he was driving up the Bidnija road, when he saw a car approaching.

He then saw that a small explosion had occurred inside the car, and he slowed down the car he was driving, bringing it to a stop.

In the meantime, he said, within the next four seconds a second explosion took place. “It was a horrible experience,” he said.

Sant said that the car continue to roll down the road, missing his own vehicle by a few metres, before it stopped in the field.
