Friday, 1 December 2017, 13:48 Last update: about 9 years ago

The majority of the Air Malta cabin crew have agreed on the collective agreement negotiated with the Union of Cabin Crew and the national airline. Cabin crew staff were called to vote against or in favour of the agreement put forward. Out of 236, 168 members voted in favour of the agreement while 68 voted against.

Minister for Tourism Konrad Mizzi revealed the result of the vote on a Tweet. Mizzi said that he was very pleased with the vote and thanked the negotiating team headed by President Emeritus George Abela.

Last week an agreement was reached on the new collective agreement between Air Malta and the Association of Airline Engineers (AAE).

The airline is also working to reach an agreement with pilots’ association and on the hiving off of ground handling services.

The Minister has recently told The Malta Independent that he is positive that all collective agreements with Air Malta staff will be concluded by end of year. He said that the national airline aims to break even after March 2018.
