General Workers Union and Lufthansa Technik have signed a new collective agreement which aims to improve wages, benefits and other conditions of workers.

The agreement was approved by the workers and will be implemented in January 2018 and ends in 2020.

According to a press release, GWUs section secretary Rita Dimech said that this collective agreement is important for workers and for the union especially since the aviation industry is currently expanding in our country. She said that the agreement will fix a number of anomalies from the previous agreement that was not discussed with the union.

She went on to say that the agreement will strengthen the company's operations, including the investment in the increase of hanger size, to be able to receive larger planes.
