An outline development permission application for a new office tower in Marsa has been filed with the Planning Authority.

The application, filed by Angelo Xuereb on behalf of Marine World Ltd in January 2018, is still in the initial stages, and is listed as being in the initial vetting / plotting stage. The site is located on Triq it-Tigrija, December 13 street , Marsa.

An outline development Application is a kind of planning permission which seeks to establish whether the scale and nature of a proposed development is acceptable in principle to the Authority. Subsequent to receiving this planning permission, an applicant will require a full development permit to actually carry out the project.

Plans submitted thus far show a 37-storey tower, with the ground floor occupying 7,500sqm, acting as a podium, with the first floor being 2,650sqm, then with each floor reducing in size. Commercial floor space also seems to be allocated in the plans.

The total site area is shown as being 13,735 sqm.
