Tarxien Rainbows will be aiming for nothing less than the three points at stake when they face bottom club Lija Athletics this evening.

The match, at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali, kicks off at 7pm.

At present Lija have just 5 points from 21 matches played, while Tarxien are on 15 points, one behind Naxxar, and two below St Andrews.

It is evident that this is a good opportunity for the Rainbows to claim three very precious points which should push them onto the 17-point mark along with St Andrews ahead of the latter two clubs’ matches this weekend.

Naxxar meet Hamrun and St Andrews meet Sliema tomorrow.

If Lija lose, they will be very close to become the first club to be officially relegated.
