It simply wasn't Getafe's night on Monday as they took on Real Betis beneath the rain at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and lost 1-0.

The visitors from Andalusia dominated possession throughout and finished with 67 percent to their name, but the home side had the better chances and will be wondering how they didn't win.

In a bad-tempered first half Getafe had the ball in the back of the net, but Angel Rodriguez's strike was correctly ruled out for an offside in the build-up.

Into the second half Getafe were awarded a penalty in the 65th minute, but Betis goalkeeper Antonio Adan was able to make a double save from Francisco Portillo.

Just a few minutes later Vitorino Antunes came even closer, but his free-kick hit the post and trickled wide.

Then, in the 89th minute, Sergio Leon stunned the home fans with a goal against the run of play.

It turned out to be the only goal of the evening, although Getafe were convinced that they'd scored an equaliser in stoppage time

The ball appeared to have crossed the line from a Leandro Cabrera header before Adan clawed it away, but no goal was awarded and Betis take the three points.
